Firefighters Knock Down Apartment House Fire in Baldwin Hills

Firefighters extinguished a fire Sunday inside a unit of an apartment building in Baldwin Hills that left one person being evaluated by paramedics, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The blaze inside the two-story building at 4040 S. Nicolet Ave. was reported just before 6 p.m., fire department spokesman Brian Humphrey said.

The department sent 20 firefighters to the scene and knocked down the flames in about 12 minutes, Humphrey said.

There’s no word yet on what kind of injury the person being evaluated had suffered.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
