A 32-year-old probationer was arrested in downtown Riverside for allegedly possessing a burglary tool and methamphetamine, police said Sunday.
Officers encountered a “suspicious person on a bike” at about 10:45 p.m. Saturday near 14th Street and Magnolia Avenue, according to the Riverside City Police Department.
After running a records check on the man, police determined he was on probation for grand theft auto and searched him. Officers found he was in possession of a “jiggler” key — a filed down or cut key used to pick vehicle ignition and door locks — which violated the terms of his probation, police said.
Officers also allegedly found methamphetamine hidden inside a flashlight the man was carrying.
Isaac Villegas of Riverside, 32, was arrested and remained jailed in lieu of $100,000 bail.
